Week 5: Hushme, world’s first voice mask

What is Hushme?
Hushme is a personal acoustic device that protects speech privacy and reduces noise pollution when speaking on the phone in open space environment. Hushme`s passive voice muffling mode is provided by the innovative insulation materials, that are embedded inside the mask and by the cushion muffs, made of hypoallergenic silicone. Special sound-absorbing foam is used as a sound-absorbing filler. Whole inner surface of the device is painted with a special sound-absorbing paint (source).

What is Rebottled?
Rebottled is an ambitious start-up that specialises in upcycling empty wine and spirits bottles into trendy drinking glasses. It’s founder and co-owner, Jermain van der Graaf, wants to do this in the most sustainable and social way possible. The company has a brand-new factory on the outskirts of Utrecht and hopes that more sites will follow in the Netherlands and also other European countries. (more information)
